
When we talk about the transpersonal we are essentially referring to realms outside of time and space and acknowledging a spiritual dimension. Transpersonal has become an umbrella term for naming those experiences where consciousness extends beyond (trans) the individual or personal.
Elements of a transpersonal nature often underlie our problems. These may be related to mystical or spiritual experiences which cannot be integrated with existing belief systems; states of mind beyond ‘normal’ perception; they may be connected to a feeling of meaningless in our materialistic world and a sense there must be something more; they may also present as disturbing and threatening even challenging our understanding of our personal identity.
However, if we open ourselves to this level of being and understanding we have access to a treasure house of resources, including archetypal images, arcane and esoteric wisdom, and spiritual knowledge from East and West, speaking to us in symbolic form.
